I am a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam. All opinions are my own.
Ever since she could hold a cup, my daughter has loved tea parties. I mean, she REALLY loves them! Every time we go on a cruise, it is a must we go to “Sea Day Tea”. Any hotel we stay at, she wants to know if they have tea time in one of the restaurants. She even has her own china tea cup with her birth month on it that has to be hand washed and has it’s own special place in the cupboard. You’re getting the idea!!!
She and her friends are also big fans of a show on Netflix called Ever After High.
She has a few of the dolls. She doesn’t “play with them”, she is 10 years-old and very quickly will tell you that she “collects” them. So her and her best friend were excited when they heard there was a new movie debuting, Ever After High: Spring Unsprung. My daughter decided she would host a Saturday tea with all the trimmings and then her and her friend would watch it. For those of you who don’t know what Ever After High is, here’s a quick description.
Ever After High is a boarding school for teens destined to follow in their famous parents’ fairytale footsteps. Only this is high school, and that spells drama. Some, like Apple White, Daring Charming and Blondie Lockes, embrace their “happily ever afters,” while others, like Raven Queen and Cedar Wood, choose to rewrite their stories — which could change the fate of every one else at school.
Pretty serious stuff, right?! My daughter and I went out shopping for supplies, she was not kidding around. We also had some great party gifts for everyone.
She and her best friend had an absolute blast. They loved the movie, the food, the party favors and the friendship. One of the big themes of the show is indeed friendship and that you can be friends with anyone, no matter what their background or what they look like. As a parent, I like that their are shows being produced that will influence my child in a positive way.
It’s hard watching my “baby” grow up. But, at least her and I will never be too old for a tea party.
