I am a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam. All opinions are my own.
It’s a tradition at my house that after Thanksgiving dinner and everyone begins to feel the tiring effect of too much turkey and dressing, we like to throw on a couple of family movies and just enjoy the rest of our night with each other. Here are five movies that my family and I will be watching on Netflix after our holiday feast.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday!
1. Free Birds (PG) – Â Two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history – and get turkey off the holiday menu for good. This is a great holiday classic for all ages.
2. The Muppet Christmas Carol (PG) - The Muppet characters tell their version of the classic tale of Scrooge and how the old, bitter miser finds redemption on Christmas Eve. We are BIG Muppet fans in my house and this movie always starts to get us in the holiday spirit. Michael Caine is really fantastic in this film!
3. Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (PG-13) - Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate “Captain” Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor’s daughter, from Jack’s former pirate allies, who are now undead. Will and Jack attempt to recapture The Black Pearl ship, save the British navy, and relinquish a fortune in forbidden treasure thereby lifting the curse of the Pirates of the Caribbean. This is a really great family action-adventure film that appeals to everyone, whether you’re 8 or 88.
4. Who Framed Roger Rabbit (PG) – Toon hating detective Eddie Valiant, is a cartoon rabbit’s only hope to prove his innocence when he is accused of murder. It’s up to Eddie to clear Roger’s name and find the real evildoer before the villainous, power-hungry Judge Doom goes on a mission to bring Roger to justice! My daughter discovered this 80’s hit about 2 years ago and now it is a mandatory after Thanksgiving movie in our house.
5. Planes, Trains and Automobiles (R) - A man must struggle to travel home for Thanksgiving with an obnoxious slob of a shower ring salesman as his only companion. Along their journey, the uptight Neal, changes his viewpoint about the slovenly Del Griffith and his own behavior. Parents, put the kids to bed and enjoy one of the funniest films EVER!
What movies will you and your family be watching on Netflix after Thanksgiving?!
