Anyone that has met me, knows that I LOVE sports. I come by it honestly. My father was a sports writer, broadcaster and he passed his love of sports onto me at a very young age. This time of year is especially exciting for me… Hockey Playoffs! I’m a huge hockey fan. I’ve been a Blackhawks fan my whole life and watching them play over the last 10 years has been really amazing. Here’s my problem, I travel a lot and it is inevitable that I will miss a game. Or so I thought. The impossible has happened! I’ll never miss a playoff game again.
Some of my die hard sports fanatic friends have introduced me to Slingbox. If you are a sports fan, you have to go out and buy one immediately. Imagine having access to your favorite shows and channels – on any device, in any location. With Slingbox, you can watch live cable or satellite TV, video apps, recorded shows, and On Demand shows on your phone, tablet, and computer. Anywhere in the world.
The long and short of it is that Slingbox is a device that sits between your cable box and your TV and streams the content to your phone, tablet, computer, or even another TV that’s connected to a Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or GoogleCast.
What that means is that you will never have to miss another game ever again. I was recently in Orlando at a press event and I was sure that I was going to miss my ‘Hawks playing. Now keep in mind, I also was wanting to watch some of the basketball playoffs and the Cubs were playing St.Louis (Always a great series to watch. Go Cubs!). Before I left I hooked up my Slingbox. Don’t be scared – it’s really easy. You know how sometimes, you buy something and it doesn’t quite do EVERYTHING it claims. Well, Slingbox isn’t one of those products. It worked everywhere I went. Once you purchase it, that’s it. They have a few different models to fit everybody’s budget.
Next month I’m going to Europe and guess what is coming with me… Slingbox! Maybe I’ll send you a picture of me watching the ‘Hawks outside of the Coliseum.
