This blog post is part of a paid Megan Media and Sling TV blogging program. I received payment and a free Sling TV trial in exchange for providing my review. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.
Let me set the scene for you – My DVR went out for the 100th time. I’ve been on the phone with my cable provider for over an hour and haven’t gotten any closer to fixing my problem than when I first picked up the phone. Not only is the DVR shot, the hockey game that I was watching is now a black screen of nothingness. My daughter is upset because she was watching one of her favorite shows and it is gone as well. We don’t let her sit in front of the TV for hours. She’s only allowed a little bit everyday. So when she watches something… it’s something she really wants to see. Now, ask me why I am putting up with this? I asked myself the same question and got rid of cable and went completely streaming. Sling TV helped my family #TakeBackTV!!!
No longer will I be a slave to the cord! Cable TV is outdated and out of touch with what families want their viewing experience to be. Sling TV’s live-streaming television service is a better way to get live and on-demand entertainment. The $20 service offers families the freedom to watch their favorite shows, sports, movies, and more, without the hassle and expense of cable, and it’s compatible with Amazon Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Fire Stick, Apple TV, Roku players, iPhone, iPad, Android TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, Android, Mac, and Windows.
I want live sports. There is nothing more important for a sports fan than the thrill of a live game. Sling TV offers local favorites and regional sports networks (where available), including Fox and Fox Regional Sports on its Beta multi-stream service (big plus for me!), as well as instant streaming on ESPN with its Best of Live TV single-stream service.
My tween daughter’s TV tastes change every 10 seconds. So I need a service that has a lot of choices for her age range. My wife likes on-demand movies. So, she wants the newest releases at her fingertips. Sling TV covers all of that. Both my wife and my daughter can easily stream favorite live shows and hit movies instantly on channels like AMC, FX, HGTV, CNN, Cartoon Network, History Channel, Disney Channel, and more. Extras are also available for HBO, Cinemax and select sports and kids programming, and Sling TV just added 12 Viacom channels including Comedy Central, BET, Spike, MTV, Nick Jr., and VH1.
The current channel lineup can be found here.
My family and I LOVE Sling TV and we’ve got all of our friends interested in getting it as well. It’s so much better than having to hassle with cable.
