My daughter and I love a great animated adventure and How To Train Your Dragon 1 & 2 are personal favorites of ours! These films are based on twelve children’s books written by British author Cressida Cowell. These funny, exciting and beautifully animated films have become instant family classics.
Netflix Debuts…Â Dragons: Race to the Edge
This summer, Hiccup and Toothless, from those critically acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon films are embarking on unparalleled adventures in the all-new Netflix original series Dragons: Race to the Edge – and inviting you along for the dragon ride.
Hiccup and Toothless have brought all of their friends with them! Astrid, Snotlout, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Fishlegs, Gothi and (my personal favorite) Gobbler.
Soaring beyond their home on the island of Berk in search of new dragons, Dragons: Race to the Edge introduces some of the most exciting dragons yet, each with its own amazing abilities — shock waves, cannon balls and fire blasts. My daughter and I started to binge watch because we wanted to see the next cool dragon and what its power was.
With the magical Dragon Eye, an artifact Hiccup finds aboard an abandoned ship, Hiccup learns there is more outside the confines of Berk. The moral of the series is, that with a little curiosity and determination you can make every day an exciting journey. It’s a great way to show kids there is no reason to be scared of the great, big world that’s out there. But, there’s knowledge and adventure to be embraced around every corner. In Hiccup’s own words, “This changes everything.”
Here in South Florida we are in the middle of our rainy season. Most afternoons are perfect for Netflix watching. My daughter and I came up with a slushy that is perfect for a rainy, summer day viewing of Dragons: Race To The Edge.
