After spending the better part of fifteen years running bars (Corporate, Dive, Beer Joints, Rock & Roll Clubs… I’ve worked at them all!), I will admit that I know my way around a cocktail. Summer is upon us and if you need a great cocktail to impress friends, my Long Island Iced Tea Recipe is perfect for all of your get togethers.
Long Island Iced Tea Recipe
I left the biz a couple of years ago to start this kick-ass blog that you are reading now. When people do find out that I spent all that time pouring drinks, I always get questions.
“How do I make this?” or “I’m having a party and I want to make something really good!”
The best advice that I could give anyone who is interested in learning the “Art of the Cocktail” – Learn the classics first!
So, I’ve decided to start putting up some recipes that will give you a great introduction to the world of adult beverages. This first one, the classic Long Island Iced Tea, is a great drink to start with because it seems like it would be difficult to make. It’s actually really easy and it’s great for gatherings, parties or just hanging out at the house with a couple of friends. Most people get intimidated about making cocktails and once you make this recipe you’ll realize that putting together a great cocktail is easier than it looks.

I will give you one piece of advice about the LIT. These are going to go down easy, so make sure you pace yourself. You don’t want to be the person that ends up sleeping in an empty bathtub at their own party.
