My 10-year-old daughter is one of my favorite people to hang out with. I know, every parent thinks their kid is the greatest, but mine really is! I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than spend time with her. It’s like hanging out with a little version of myself and if you have ever met me…. You know I’m pretty cool!
One of our favorite things to do is “Movie Time”. My parents instilled a big love of film in me as a child and it has carried through adulthood. It was one of the best gifts my folks ever gave me. Now, I’m passing that on to my daughter. We go to the theater about once or twice a month, but let’s be honest, in 5 years cinemas could be a thing of the past. On Demand and streaming services are the future! You could also go to a kiosk, but who wants to worry about returning the movie the very next day?! You feel pressured to watch it the second you get home and heaven forbid you like it and might want to watch it again. Kiosks are just a hassle.
This weekend the kid and I took advantage of the Verizon FIOS Family Weekend Sale. Every weekend they offer a few different family films for a discounted price. For about $3 you can see a great flick and you have 48 hours from the time that you press play to watch your selection. It gives you plenty of time to watch and you don’t feel rushed in the process. We watched the animated feature, The Book Of Life and the remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Both movies were VERY good!
You also have the option, for a few extra dollars, to buy a digital copy of what you’ve rented and add it to your Verizon FiOS library. You can also rent it in SD (Standard Definition) or HD (High Definition). The HD is usually a dollar or two more expensive and is totally worth it. The picture quality rivals seeing it in a theater.
My daughter has decided our regular Saturday night routine from now on will include the Verizon FiOS Family Weekend Sale. I’m excited she’a developing a love of movies and she stills like hanging out with her “old man”. Verizon FiOS has everything we need to have an amazing family movie night!
