Anyone who knows me or reads this blog, knows that my family and I are constantly on the go. We travel quite a bit and my wife and I both own our own businesses. So, when we’re at home, we always make sure that a chance at a family dinner is never wasted. My wife and I love to cook, but sometimes after a long day, the last thing you want to do is prep and cook an entire meal.
What Do You Do?
When you think of frozen meals, do you get images of lukewarm salisbury steak with a side of peas and carrots… I know I do! The truth is that there are a lot of options these days when it comes to flavorful, frozen meals. I usually will hit up my local Publix (I’m in there, literally four times a week) and see what kind of choices they have. Right now they have a great special going on for all of us who are looking for something delicious and quick to feed the family.
When you purchase $30 of ConAgra frozen meals. You will recieve a $10 Publix gift card toward your next purchase. Here are the brands you could choose from.
- Healthy Choice
- PF Changs
- Marie Callender’s
- Bertolli
You can use the deal up to 5 times per household. That means you could purchase $150 and receive $50 in savings from the Frozen Rewards Club! You have to register, so make sure you sign up here.
Put it in the skillet and in 10 minutes…
Dinner is served!
If you’re looking to add a little fun to your family dinners, try playing a dinner table game. These are two of our favorites.
- Telephone - One person starts by whispering a short phrase into the ear of the family member to their left. That person then whispers what they heard to the family member on their left. It continues around the table until it gets to the original person. That person then tells the table what they heard. If someone didn’t hear what was said in their ear, they can cash in on one “redialâ€. It encourages great communication skilsl and what family couldn’t use a little extra of that.
- “Once Upon A Time…” – It’s really easy and requires zero set up or materials. The first person starts out with the phrase “Once Upon a Time” and then they add their own sentence after the phrase. Here’s an example – “Once Upon A Time… A giant hippo decided she was going to move to France”. Then the person to the left picks up the story and adds their own sentence. Go around the table six or seven times and you’ll find that you’ve created quite a story together. It’s a great way to promote creativity and you end up laughing until you almost can’t see straight.
Family dinners are always attainable with a little creativity and some help from ConAgra foods and Publix!
