Coming to Netflix on April 10th is the long awaited Marvel series Daredevil. British actor Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire and Stardust), will play blind lawyer/hero/vigilante Matt Murdoch. Vincent D’Onofrio has been cast as one of my favorite villains, The Kingpin. Rounding out the cast is Rosario Dawson and Deborah Ann Woll.
The show has former Joss Whedon collaborators Drew Goddard and Steven S DeKnight at the helm, so it should fit in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This incarnation looks urban and gritty, somehow I don’t think we’ll see any talking raccoons or Norse-type gods. This looks very down to earth. Here is Netflix official description of the new show:
Take a look at the first trailer!!!
This is first of four shows, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Leading off with Daredevil, followed by Jessica Jones (featuring Krysten Ritter as Jones and Dr. Who himself, David Tennant as villian Killgrave). Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter and the yet to be cast Iron Fist. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a culminating Marvel’s “The Defenders” mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.
“Marvel’s Daredevil” is part of a partnership between Marvel Television, Netflix and the State of New York with all of the new television series being filmed in the streets of New York City.
It seems like Netflix has spared no detail in making this one of the biggest and best series events of the last few years. I love Daredevil and I can’t wait to see this. I’ve got my fingers crossed!!!
All 13 Daredevil Episodes Will Be Available On Netflix April 10th.
