I have partnered with Life of Dad and DynaTrap for this promotion.
Controlling mosquitoes is a must for summer. I love to hang in the backyard. Whether I’m out there with my family, my buddies, or everybody, the backyard is THE place to be during the summer months. I live in Florida, so controlling mosquitoes is absolutely a must if I want to enjoy my summer in any appreciable way.
Controlling Mosquitoes
Hanging out in the backyard and listening to the sounds of nature is a beautiful thing… IF you aren’t being eaten alive by mosquitoes. It’s not just being uncomfortable either. Mosquitoes carry nasty stuff like West Nile Disease and the Zika Virus. So not only does getting stabbed by a mosquito cause an itchy, localized rash, it can also cause serious health problems. I’m not into health problems, so I do everything I can to help prevent as many mosquitoes in my yard as possible.
Using the tips below, I’m doing everything I can to protect myself and my family from mosquitoes and the dangerous disease they can carry. Follow my lead and #GuardYourYard like a boss!
No Standing Water
The first thing to know is that standing water is the nursery of the mosquito world. Mosquitoes can ONLY lay their eggs in standing water, so make sure anything that holds water is emptied. Change bird fountain water every couple of days to prevent any larvae from maturing.
Keep the Lawn Mowed
Mosquitoes just love to hang out in tall grass. A key part of controlling mosquitoes is keeping your lawn at a respectable length. A nicely mowed yard gets rid of all those lovely hiding places that mosquitoes can find in tall grass.
Mosquito Repellent
Always wear a mosquito repellent when you go outside. DEET doesn’t agree with everyone, but there are several mosquito repellents on the market these days that don’t use that particular chemical. They even make all-natural repellents that actually work.
Controlling Mosquitoes with DynaTrap
One of the keys to controlling mosquitoes is the DynaTrap. This cutting edge piece of lawn protection helps eliminate mosquitoes and other flying insets without chemicals or propane. It uses a specialized attractant in conjunction with certain wavelengths of light and a fan to attract mosquitoes and other flying insects and draw them in to the trap. And it’s all 100% safe.
With the DynaTrap, my family, my friends, and I can enjoy the backyard and beautiful Florida evenings without the fear that we’re going to be walking buffets for the duration. And less mosquitoes in the yard puts in less danger of contracting West Nile or Zika, which is causing some real fear across the globe.
If you want to #GuardYourYard, following the above tips will help you in controlling mosquitoes and keeping you and your family less itchy all year. Take a look a DynaTrap and make it a part of your battle against mosquitoes. It’s awesome.
